CAST9JA: JAMB Announces Cut-off Mark For 2019 Admission

For your information. The Joint Admissions and
Matriculation Board, JAMB, on
Tuesday approved 160 and above
as this year’s national minimum
cut-off mark for admission into
public universities.

The decision was reached at the
19th Policy Meeting on Admissions
to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria
which held at the Bola Babalakin
Auditorium, Gbongan, Osun State.

According to the Nation, the board
also approved 140 as minimum
UTME score for admission into
private universities and 110 for
admission into private
polytechnics.

JAMB Announced the Closing Date for the 2019 Admission

The Joint admission and
Matriculation Board (JAMB) has
announced the deadline for the
2019/2020 admission process into
universities. December 19th has
been approved for close of admission into public universities
and February 15, 2020 for private
universities.

This was announced during the
2019 JAMB Policy meeting. The
meeting had in attendance, Vice
Chancellors of universities,
Rectors of Polytechnics and
Provost of colleges of education The 2019 cut-off marks into
universities, polytechnics and
colleges of education were also
announced during the meeting.
Candidates are advised to get the
Post-UTME Past questions and Answers of their schools of choice
and start preparing for the Post-
UTME screening exercise.

In his remarks, the Director of
tertiary institutions, Federal
Ministry of Education, Joel Ojo,
who represented Minister of
Education, said the outcome of the
recent investigation of the UTME registration of candidates carried
out by the JAMB Admissions was
a pointer that the examination
industry requires a review.

Mr Ojo said JAMB Policy Meeting
remains the acceptable forum
where plans and programmes for
admissions are discussed and
approved to guide the placement
of qualified candidates to tertiary institutions.

CAST9JA: Dont for get June 12 is Democracy day, President Buhari signs said so

President Buhari has signed the
June 12th bill into law. President
Buhari assented to the Public
Holiday Amendment Act, declaring June 12 of every year a public holiday and Democracy Day.

I almost forgot so try not to forget
I think he did that so as to be remembered, that is for his own selfish interest and it does'nt make any sense to me

His Special Assistant on National Assembly matters, Senator Ita Enang, told state house correspondents that with the assent to the amendment, May 29th will no longer be a public holiday.

CAST9JA: Salla turns violent in Bauchi, some died some injured

Eid-el-Fitri turns violent in Bauchi One killed, 14 injured

Violence took over Eid-el-Fitri
celebrations in Bauchi state on
Wednesday, claiming one person
and leaving 14 others injured.

This was due to a clash between
two groups of hunters during the
Durbar procession in Bauchi, the
state capital.

The hunters were said to have
attacked one another with
dangerous weapons and also shot
into the air during the clash,
Channels TV reports.

The state Governor, Bala
Mohammed, following the clash,
immediately visited the victims at
the trauma and emergency centre
of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa
University Teaching Hospital in the state.

He said based on the preliminary
inquiry from the police, the clash
was planned.

The governor also promised to go
tough on miscreants attempting to
truncate the peace of the state.

The Commissioner of Police in
Bauchi, Habu Sani, said at least 55
persons have been arrested and
that investigation is still ongoing.

The Durbar festival is an annual
event which is usually celebrated
at the end of Ramadan and during
Eid-el-Fitri celebrations.
